Artist Info

Drake LaBry was born on the Bayou Teche of Louisiana. At the age of twelve he was pulled from his local school, relocating to New Orleans, to attend the art school NOCCA. The culture and flavor of “The Big Easy” became the start for his exploration of color and shape, leading him to begin attending the University of New Orleans for Fine Art. The hurricane Katrina changed his course however, landing him at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge to complete is BFA. Afterwards he left to live in Spain, wanting to experience some of what he had studied. The underground of Madrid and Valencia were particularly influential to him. LaBry relocated to Los Angeles to work for Waldo Fernandez, and then later Kelly Wearstler, before working as an in-house designer at Twentieth.
LaBry’s art is in private celebrity collections as well as the collections of Michael Robertson, Nadine Carter Russel, the LSU Foundation, and the Fredrick Weisman Art Foundation.
